Sports Massage Therapy

Sports massage therapy is a specific type of soft tissue therapy used throughout various stages (pre, during, post) of an athlete's event. For example a pre-event treatment typically is used to activate the body getting the sports person ready for his or her event. This treatment session is short lasting 10-15 minutes and consisting of quick, fast manual techniques, which may also include specific therapeutic stretching.

A post event and or restoration type of treatment, is longer in length, lasting 45-60 minutes usually and involves different techniques and tissue mobilization. The goal of a sports massage in whichever phase the athlete might be in, helps that athlete be as optimally ready to perform in their sports as possible.
